To clean a microchip feeder safely, separate the removable food-contact parts (bowl, mat, and lid) from the electronic housing and sensor area, and follow the exact moisture rules for your specific microchip pet feeder model. Never generalize body-wiping instructions across brands: while the standard non-Connect SureFeed allows wiping its outer body with a damp cloth, PETLIBRO's One RFID Pet Feeder (AF301/PLAF301) strictly prohibits rinsing or wiping its base, collar tag, or reader with a wet cloth.
Separate the Removable Parts and Lid Release Sequence
On the standard non-Connect SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder (User Manual pages 1–18), remove the feeding bowl and mat for hand washing to protect the integrated rubber seal. To remove the lid on the standard non-Connect SureFeed: slide the lid lock to the unlocked position, press the rear open/close button so the lid stands upright, turn the back of the feeder toward you, and lift the lid straight out for hand washing.
Sure Petcare's US cleaning guide specifies washing the removed SureFeed mat, bowl, and lid in warm soapy water and drying them thoroughly; its dishwasher allowance applies only to confirmed dishwasher-safe bowl inserts, while the SureFeed mat and lid remain hand-wash only.
Clean the Named Components: Two Separate Model Boxes
Because SureFeed and PETLIBRO set opposite wet-cloth rules for their electronics, keep these two named microchip pet feeder boxes strictly separate:
| Component Category | Box A: Standard Non-Connect SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder | Box B: PETLIBRO One RFID Pet Feeder (AF301 / PLAF301) |
|---|---|---|
| Removable Washable Parts | Standard non-Connect SureFeed bowl, mat, and lid: Hand wash in warm soapy water and dry completely before refitting (dishwasher permission applies only to confirmed SureFeed bowl inserts, never the mat or lid). | PETLIBRO One RFID AF301/PLAF301 washable accessories: Clean only the removable accessories specified in the AF301/PLAF301 guide and ensure all accessories are completely dry before reassembly. |
| Main Body, Sensor Hoop & RFID Reader Rule | SureFeed body & hoop: Wipe the SureFeed body with a damp cloth; keep the four sensor dots inside the hoop clean and keep the deck free of food debris. | PETLIBRO One RFID base, collar tag & reader: Must NOT be rinsed or wiped with a wet cloth under any circumstances. |
| Explicit Prohibitions | Never immerse the SureFeed unit in water or hold it under a running tap; never put the SureFeed mat, lid, or main body in a dishwasher. | Never rinse or use a wet cloth on the PETLIBRO AF301/PLAF301 base, collar tag, or RFID reader; never reassemble damp accessories onto the base. |
Dry Removable Parts Completely and Refit the Lid Correctly
Allow every washed bowl, mat, lid, or removable accessory to dry completely before putting it back on the feeder housing, as both Sure Petcare and PETLIBRO require.
To refit the lid on the standard non-Connect SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder: insert the dry lid flat in front of the lever, fold the lid over the lever, slide the lid lock back to the locked position, and press the rear open/close button to close the lid.
Check Bowl Type and Lid Seating Before Returning to Service
Verify your exact bowl material and model sheet before using a dishwasher—remember that Sure Petcare restricts dishwasher use to confirmed bowl inserts and excludes the mat and lid. If the lid does not seat flush on its lever or a sensor dot remains obstructed, keep the unit out of use until resolved.
