Saving a pet camera clip means more than opening its playback page. A cloud Favorite, a download kept inside the camera app and a video in your phone's album can be different things. Choose the recording you want, follow the instructions for that camera and check the actual destination file.

The examples below concern recordings already available through an account you are authorized to use. They do not create a recording, recover an expired clip or establish that every camera offers the same export controls.

Identify the clip before choosing a save option

Select the intended camera, then identify the recording by its displayed date, time and visible content. If several devices have similar names, resolve that ambiguity first. Keep the source location in mind: cloud history and a camera's local storage can present different download options.

Decide where you want the copy to end up. For this task, the endpoint is a video you can find and open in your phone's album or gallery. A confirmation inside the camera app may describe an earlier stage.

Tapo: separate an app download from the phone album

TP-Link's download guide, updated September 28, 2026, distinguishes cloud clips and SD-card/Hub recordings. For cloud footage, select the camera's Playback & Download > Cloud Video, choose the clip and use its download control.

For supported SD recordings, the guide describes downloading a detection event through its More menu, or using Clip & Download for a selected segment. Most Wi-Fi cameras require the phone on the same Wi-Fi network for these downloads; the page expressly excepts 4G cameras and certain models such as the C660 KIT. Availability depends on model, hardware and firmware.

A download can remain inside the Tapo app. Use Playback & Download > Download to save the selected file to the phone's album. The guide warns that clearing the app cache deletes app-downloaded files, and expired cloud clips cannot be retrieved. Export an important available clip before relying on continued cloud access.

Furbo: Favorites and a saved phone video are separate

The current US-English Furbo video-saving article describes adding a clip to the Favorites tab in Video History. It also says subscription cancellation deletes saved Favorite Videos. Treat that service-linked collection separately from a file saved to your phone.

Its download instructions are: select the desired Video History, open the clip's ellipsis menu, choose Share, then select Save video to the mobile album. Opening the Share menu alone does not complete that last step. Follow the current page and the controls available for your app rather than combining instructions from older translations.

Petcube: confirm the destination without inventing controls

Petcube's short saving FAQ says its application can save device videos to the iPhone Camera roll or Android Gallery. The article is categorized for Bites 2, Play 2 BLE, Play, Bites and Camera.

That FAQ supplies no button sequence. Use the guidance for your actual product and app; do not apply the Tapo or Furbo menu paths to it, or infer support for every Petcube model from this short answer.

Check the copy where you intended to keep it

Open the phone's album or gallery, find the saved video and play it. Check that its content and duration match the clip you selected. If you can only find it inside the camera app, record that narrower result rather than marking the phone copy complete.

A useful private note needs only the selected camera and clip, its source location, the destination you actually checked and any unresolved message. Leave account secrets out.

Finding one playable file does not establish an indefinite backup or any particular security protection. Keep saving separate from deleting the source, resetting the camera or changing a subscription.

For recording initialization and local playback, see our separate microSD detection-recording guide. The pet camera category supports equipment browsing; a listing does not establish export support for your exact device.
