Automatic tracking changes which moving subject a supported camera follows. Start with the exact device and its documented controls, then check what it actually follows. A saved preference alone does not show that your pet stayed in view.
Confirm support before changing a setting
Reolink's complete compatibility table lists 26 model entries, with hardware restrictions for some. For example, E1 Pro lists IPC_566SD54MP and IPC_NT1NA45MP; a similar product name is insufficient. Check your device against its own row.
Available target types and tracking methods differ. TrackMix can use digital tracking rather than only physical movement. A horizontal tracking limit controls tracking movement; it is not a privacy mask. Returning to a monitoring point also depends on one being set.
Resolve the device identity first. For update prerequisites, use the separate camera firmware guide. Do not substitute a reset or a different model's instructions when a control is absent.
Follow the supported Reolink App route
- Open the selected camera's device settings, then Auto Tracking. Choose whether tracking is enabled.
- Under Tracking Type, choose from the target categories your model offers and save. Person, Vehicle and Animal are not universal options.
- If supported, adjust Tracking Priority by reordering the available categories. A Tracking Method choice is also model-dependent.
- For a horizontal limit, open its Settings, set the left and right limits, then save.
- Set the Schedule. In this App procedure, blue hourly blocks enable tracking and white blocks disable it. Save the intended periods.
- Review Object Stops and Object Disappears: these determine how long tracking waits at the last position in those respective circumstances.
These are App instructions. The source's Client, Web and supported NVR procedures have different controls; do not combine them into this route. Current supported firmware and App versions are prerequisites.
Keep the Wyze Cam Pan v2 route separate
Wyze's April 2024 Pan v2 instructions use that camera's More > Motion Tracking control. The article describes green as enabled and black as disabled. This is not a procedure for every Pan generation.
When several objects move, this model follows the largest rather than a specifically designated pet. After 15 seconds without activity, it returns to its initial position or resumes an already running Pan Scan. Motion Tracking is independent of Motion Detection and Motion Tagging; switching one does not establish the others' states.
Check the response and keep the result specific
Record the actual model, hardware, selected target type where available, enabled period and any limits you changed. When checking an ordinary current view, note the subject that was followed and any difference from your intended view. If the expected response is absent, give support those details and the exact matching instruction page. Do not report an observed result you have not checked.
A manually recalled view belongs to the pan-and-tilt preset task. Whether an event was saved belongs to the separate microSD recording task. Following a subject, selecting a preset and finding a recording answer different questions.
Exterior appearance and a category listing do not establish automatic-tracking support.
