Setting Up a Cat Water Fountain: Parts, Filter and First Start

Catit's PIXI Mini guide routes its USB cable through the reservoir gutter and secures it in the groove as directed. It connects the pump, tube and filter tray, with the level pump's LED facing the window. Soak its filter ten minutes, shake and rinse; seat it pockets-down and tuck the mesh under the central tabs. Fill without overfilling, fit the top indentation-forward and optional spout, then connect adapter and wall power. Secure excess cord as directed. Unplug with dry hands before handling parts or the pump.

PetSafe's Current instructions identify bowl, lid, pump plate, filter, pump and adapter. Wash its bowl and pump using warm water and unscented soap; reassemble the pump as instructed. Rinse its carbon filter under warm water for 30 seconds. Attach the pump plate, slide pump and plate into the bowl slots, and route the cord through the opening and bottom channel. Fit the filter black-side toward the pump. Fill leaving at least 1/4 inch below the bowl lip; secure the lid, then connect power.

The Hydrosphere 60oz Stainless Steel instructions require first-use cleaning. Route its unenergized USB-C cord, align bowl and magnetic pump, rinse and insert the reversible filter, then fit the splash guard shortest-section forward. Fill to the bowl's line; align the tray gasket with the pump tube. Connect the supply end and press/release power. Blue power light and briefly pulsing red during initial priming precede flow.
