Choose a cat harness and leash set by its entry style, closure layout and fit. Strap, mesh step-in and fabric wrap designs put their adjustment points in different places. Keep the harness and included leash together when comparing sets.

Measure the neck and chest separately

For the Come With Me Kitty design, measure girth around the rib cage immediately behind the front legs. The PetSafe fitting instructions show the harness layout and adjustment points.

The Coastal Comfort Soft CHL03 X-Small option lists a 7–10-inch neck, 11–14-inch girth and an 8–10-pound weight range. These figures belong to that option; a size name from another design uses a different chart. Use your cat's actual neck and chest measurements when selecting a Pawlivy option.

Choose the opening that suits your routine

A strap harness has separate strap and buckle adjustments. A mesh step-in design places the front legs through its openings. A wrap design uses a larger fabric section with hook-and-loop fastening. Keep the leash attachment separate from the adjustment points: an adjustable strap is not a leash anchor.

Introduce the harness before the outing

Practise fitting in a familiar indoor space and follow the instructions for the selected design. Remove the harness when it is not in use. A correct size and a closed buckle do not make any harness escape-proof, and your cat's response determines the pace of introduction.
