To work out how to assemble a cat tree, match its exact kit to its own complete instructions.
Check the exact kit
Compare the components with the inventory before joining them. Keep differently labeled posts, panels and fasteners separate, even when they look alike.
Keep the model number, instructions and any unresolved part identifiers together. If the instructions are missing or do not match the supplied components, request the correct version from the maker before proceeding.
Use the maker's order
Catit's Vesper High Base sheet supplies a hex key and rules out an electric drill. Its nine drawings build the cubby first, turn it as shown, then connect the lower posts and base, cubby and side platform, upper posts and top platform. Finish with the depicted pads and toy. Match C and E posts, fastener quantities and connection details to each drawing.
TRIXIE's Gerado 44986 sheet starts with the long sides on the floor. Its five drawings attach the bottom plate to side panels 1 and 2, add middle floors and the top plate, slide panels 3 and 4 into the rails, then place the cushions. Its instructions specify adult assembly.
TRIXIE's Alicante 4386 sheet explicitly calls for adult assembly from the top down. Use its exploded diagram, including the enlarged cave/platform connection. Posts 6, 7, 8 and 9 have distinct lengths or fittings; match their positions and the listed hardware. This is a different assembly route from either example above.
Pause on an unresolved mismatch
Do not improvise a replacement fastener or change the layout to make an unexplained mismatch disappear. Keep the unfinished tree unavailable while the missing or conflicting instruction remains unresolved.
Complete the documented checks
Compare the completed arrangement and connections with the exact sheet. An assembled-looking tree does not establish its load capacity or stability.
Both named TRIXIE sheets call for regular screw checks and retightening when necessary. Keep those instructions for subsequent checks.
Record which instructions you followed and any answer still needed.
